Results returned fulfill the criteria specified in all the fields where data have been entered, i.e. if you enter 'Smith' in the Last Name field and select 'Washington D.C.' in the Metro Area field, speakers who are named Smith AND are living in the Washington D.C. area will be returned.

In fields where you can make more than one entry (the Keyword and Topic fields) an OR function is applied, i.e. if you select the topics "Education" and "Ethics" speakers who have listed either Education OR Ethics as their area of expertice will be found.

The Last Name field are treated differently from other fields in that a partial match is sought. Speakers with last names starting with the sequence of characters you enter will be returned. (If you, for example, enter "Wil" speakers with last names like Willis, Wilson, Williams etc. will be found.)

The fields where you select data (the Topics, Metro Area and State fields) contain only the relevant options, i.e. if no speaker has registered 'Delaware' as his state of residence Delaware will not be an option you can select.

In the Keyword field you may enter a series of words separated by blanks. The areas of the database searched are:

• expert areas (topics)
• summary
• biography
• company name
• program titles
• program descriptions
• product titles
• product keywords
• product descriptions

If you check the box Search for the exact phrase the full text you enter, including blanks and punctuation marks, is sought.

Search results are displayed in alphabetical order by last name, ten to a page. To navigate between pages click the page number at the top or at the bottom of the screen. To view detailed information related to a speaker click the speaker's name or photo.
